O Guardian, pela mão de Mark Sweney, apresenta hoje a versão actualizada de uma listagem que faz todo o sentido – um Top + dos videos virais.
Naturalmente, qualquer um de nós pode ir a viralvideochart.com e ver tudo o que lá está; podemos ver os mais vistos do último dia ou da última semana; podemos ver os mais vistos só com animais…podemos…
Mas o que Mark Sweney faz é diferente – ele recupera, num espaço totalmente novo, a essência do jornalismo. O jornalismo de Sweney já não está sozinho, já não é fonte única de informação, já não é sequer, para muitos, a melhor fonte. Mas para muitos outros essa continuará a ser a maneira mais corrente de tentar observar uma imensidão de realidades complexas – através de pessoas em quem confiamos. E se eu quero, num dado momento do meu dia, saber o que anda por aí a circular na net e não tenho tempo para ver e seriar uma listagem infindável, o Guardian dá-me uma ajuda.
Os jornais precisam mesmo de aprender a ser indispensáveis, como o Guardian está a tentar ser.
